We're seeking a Hotel Accountant for a contract opportunity with our well-established Halifax -based client, who has a diverse portfolio spanning hospitality and real estate operations. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will support accounting activities across a portion of the organization's operations, with a primary focus on income statement reporting and accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
Manage accounting activities for approximately one and a half hotels
Take primary ownership of income statement reporting and related accounting functions
Manage accounts receivable activities, including reconciliations and follow-up as required
Prepare and maintain accurate financial information and supporting schedules
Assist with month-end and other regular accounting processes
Support accurate and timely financial reporting across assigned properties
Contribute to a collaborative team environment and assist with other accounting requirements as needed
Experience & Attributes for Success:
3+ years of relevant accounting experience
Experience with full-cycle or property/hospitality accounting considered an asset
Experience with Sage Intacct or Yardi is preferred, but not required
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced workplace
Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a larger accounting team
Availability to fulfill the full duration of the contract
