ACE Vegetation is currently seeking an experienced Sawman to join our team for a FireSmart project in Whitehorse, Yukon.
Responsibilities Safely fall, limb and buck trees
Remove hazardous trees, brush and vegetation
Complete thinning and fuel-reduction work
Operate and maintain chainsaws and related equipment
Follow FireSmart specifications and ACE Vegetation's safety procedures
Work effectively as part of a professional field crew
Qualifications Previous professional chainsaw, forestry or vegetation-management experience
Strong knowledge of protected falling, limbing and bucking practices
Physically capable of working outdoors in rugged terrain and changing weather conditions
Valid driver's licence preferred
Chainsaw certification and First Aid are considered assets
Reliable, hardworking and safety-focused
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
