The University Health
Network is recruiting a Veterinary Technician for its energetic Animal Resource Centre. This full-time position involves ensuring the health and welfare of laboratory animals while performing a variety of husbandry tasks, including colony management and daily inspections. You'll interact closely with vets and researchers, providing essential support in a research-driven atmosphere. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee animal husbandry and welfare for diverse species
- Administer drugs in accordance with instructions
- Maintain cleanliness in animal housing areas
- Carry out necropsies and tissue sampling as needed
- Monitor and document animal health and environmental conditions Requirements:
- Graduation from a Veterinary Technology program
- At least one year practical experience required
- Experience with large and small animals in research
- WHMIS training and proficiency in Microsoft Office
