Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support financial operations for a manufacturing organization in Aurora, Ontario. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, strengthening reporting processes, and helping the business close each reporting period efficiently. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work comfortably with complex reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring transactions are recorded accurately in the general ledger.

- Lead month-end activities, including reviewing account balances, resolving discrepancies, and supporting timely financial reporting.

- Analyze branch profitability, gross margin performance

- Investigate revenue trends, labor, material costs, and overhead expenditures.

- Partner with General Managers and operational leaders to understand business drivers and explain financial results.

- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.





- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple business units.

- Maintain organized records and schedules that support audits, internal reviews, and management reporting needs.

Requirements:

- CPA or progress toward CPA considered an asset.

- Extensive experience in a senior-level accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing setting.

- 4-5 years public accounting and/or industry experience.

- Advanced Excel skills.

- Experience with Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP solutions.

- ERP implementation or business transformation experience.

- Strong hands-on expertise in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

- Solid experience coordinating or contributing to month-end close processes.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, and account support schedules.
