About the Role
We are seeking a Job Placement Specialist to join our employment support team. This role is dedicated to clients who are job-ready and expected to secure employment within a short time frame. The successful candidate will connect clients with genuine employment opportunities, cultivate solid employer relationships, match clients to live job openings, and guide them through the hiring process toward successful, sustained employment.
What You'll Do
- Develop and monitor individualized Action Plans centred on employment goals
- Provide one-on-one career counselling to help clients overcome employment-related barriers and set realistic, targeted job goals
- Build and maintain an active employer network focused on direct-hire employment opportunities
- Source and match clients to live job openings aligned with their skills and labour market demand
- Support clients through the hiring process: applications, employer introductions, interview coordination, and negotiation of job offers
- Conduct structured post-placement check-ins to support job retention and resolve early workplace issues
- Liaise with employers to confirm hire status, gather feedback, and strengthen relationships for future placements
- Track and report all placements, outcomes, and retention data
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in job placement, employment services, recruitment, or career counselling (formal education may be substituted with relevant experience)
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills — comfortable networking with employers and advocating for clients
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload with attention to detail
- Experience in sales (B2B) an asset
- Experience with case management/tracking systems is an asset
- A genuine interest in helping people find and keep meaningful work
Details
- Full-Time (0.8FTE), 32 hours/week
- Pay: $23- 25/hr, based on experience
- On-site position in Northeast Edmonton
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
