Career Contacts is supporting a confidential search for an experienced Director, People & Culture Operations & Employee Experience to join a growing, multi-site organization in the Fraser Valley, BC.
This is a senior People & Culture leadership prospect for someone who excels at building strong HR operations, navigating complex employee relations, and creating consistent, practical people practices across an organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in translating broader People & Culture strategy into scalable programs, processes, systems, and standards that support both employees and leaders.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, solutions-oriented HR leader who is equally comfortable managing complex employee matters, improving HR systems and processes, coaching People & Culture teams and leaders, and using workforce data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 per year
Location: The Fraser Valley, BC
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership across People & Culture operations, ensuring HR services, programs, policies, and practices are consistent, responsive, and scalable across multiple locations
- Lead complex employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, attendance, conflict, complaints, workplace investigations, and other sensitive employee issues
- Establish and maintain effective case management, documentation, escalation, and employee relations practices
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, tools, and governance standards that support compliance and consistent decision-making
- Oversee core employee lifecycle programs, including onboarding, performance processes, recognition, employee listening, and offboarding
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, workflows, systems, automation, self-service, and overall service delivery
- Support HRIS optimization, data integrity, reporting, governance, and process documentation
- Provide functional leadership, coaching, and guidance to People & Culture teams across multiple sites
- Coach managers and leaders on employee relations, policy application, performance management, communication, engagement, and people leadership practices
- Monitor workforce metrics including turnover, absenteeism, employee relations trends, engagement, onboarding, performance activity, and HR service levels
- Partner with business leaders on workforce planning and labour capacity requirements to support organizational growth and changing business needs
- Translate workforce data and trends into meaningful insights and practical recommendations for senior leadership
- Identify employee and leader pain points and lead improvements that strengthen the overall employee experience
- Support organizational change through people-impact assessments, communication, transition planning, and change adoption
- Partner cross-functionally with Payroll, Finance, IT, Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, and business leaders to ensure effective HR service delivery
- Support labour relations and collective agreement interpretation as required
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant responsibility within employee relations and HR operations leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline; equivalent education and progressive experience may be considered
- Travel required between multiple provinces
- Demonstrated experience leading people and overseeing HR programs, policies, systems, and process improvements within a complex organization
- Strong experience managing workplace investigations, performance management, conflict resolution, and complex employee relations matters
- Experience with HRIS optimization, HR data governance, workforce metrics, analytics, and executive-level reporting
- Strong working knowledge of applicable employment standards, human rights, privacy, occupational health and safety, and labour requirements
- Proven ability to lead through influence across multiple locations, functions, and organizational levels
- Experience supporting workforce planning, organizational change, and leader adoption within a growing or transforming organization
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance employee experience, business needs, risk, and long-term organizational impact
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, coaching, and leadership skills
- Experience within manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or a similarly operationally complex environment is preferred
- Labour relations and unionized workplace experience is a strong asset
- CPHR designation is preferred
