About the Role

Current Utilities is establishing a regional utilities platform designed to deliver safe, reliable, and compliant municipal water and wastewater services. This is an opportunity to be part of something foundational — helping to build and shape a modern, community-focused utility.

We are seeking a Water & Wastewater Operator to oversee and operate municipal water and wastewater systems, with a mandate to support safe operations, regulatory compliance, and long-term modernization.

This is a hands-on role combining Operator-in-Charge responsibility, technical leadership, and system stewardship across multiple communities.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as support for the Lead Operator-in-Charge (OIC) for assigned water and wastewater systems, and provide vacation relief
- Provide day-to-day operational support of treatment, distribution, collection, and discharge systems
- Support regulatory compliance, monitoring, sampling, reporting, and inspections
- Support SCADA monitoring, alarms, and operational responseSupport incident response (boil water advisories, bypass events, equipment failures)
- Support the development and standardization of SOPs, ERPs, and maintenance practices
- Support the coordination of contractors, consultants, and vendors
- Support capital planning,



commissioning, and lifecycle asset management
- Engage constructively with municipal staff, regulators, and community stakeholders

Required Certifications & Qualifications

- EOCP Level II – Water Treatment
- EOCP Level II – Wastewater Treatment
- EOCP Level II – Water Distribution
- EOCP Level II – Wastewater Collection
- Confined Space Entry, WHMIS, and Occupational First Aid
- Minimum 4–7 years of progressive municipal water/wastewater operating experience

Preferred Assets

- Experience operating multiple municipal systems
- SCADA and remote operations experience
- Asset management, preventive maintenance, or capital project exposure
- Applied Water and Wastewater Technology (AWWT) diploma or equivalent
- ICS 100/200 training

Pay: $90,000.00-$105,000.00 per year

- Prince Rupert, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
