Overview

Title: Associate Pastor

Location: Calgary Campus

Hours: 40 hours/week

Supervisor: Senior Pastor

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Start Date: Flexible / TBD

Position Summary

Mountain Springs Calvary Chapel (MSCC) is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor to join our team at the Calgary Campus.

The Associate Pastor serves as part of the pastoral team, working collaboratively with the Senior Pastor, other pastors, staff, and ministry leaders to provide pastoral care, spiritual leadership, and organizational support for the church. The role combines relational and discipleship ministry with leadership, financial, and operational responsibilities.

As the individual grows in the role and demonstrates the skills, leadership capacity, and gifting needed, there may be an prospect for the position to develop into an Executive Pastor role with broader responsibility for staff, finances, and church operations.

Key Responsibilities

Pastoral Care & Discipleship

- Provide spiritual care, biblical counseling, encouragement, prayer, and follow-up for individuals and families.
- Conduct visitations and pastoral check-ins as needed.
- Lead and participate in discipleship ministries, including Refresh Small Groups and Bible studies.
- Be a relational and pastoral presence throughout church life.

Pastoral Team & Ministry Leadership

- Work collaboratively with the pastoral team, staff, and ministry leaders to advance the church’s mission, vision, and ministry priorities.

Participate in worship services and other church gatherings through teaching, prayer, and other pastoral responsibilities.

- Equip, encourage, and develop ministry leaders and volunteers.
- Provide pastoral oversight to our Men’s Ministry and other ministries as required.
- Assist with staff transitions, hiring, onboarding,



and role changes as appropriate.
- Help foster healthy communication, collaboration, and accountability across ministry teams.

Finance, Administration & Operations

- Provide oversight and coordination of key financial responsibilities, including budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, and financial processes.
- Help ensure ministry priorities are supported by effective planning, systems, and follow-through.
- Participate in church-wide planning, coordination, and organizational decision-making.
- Help evaluate and improve systems, processes, and team rhythms for greater ministry effectiveness.
- Assist with church-wide projects, events, and organizational priorities.

Qualifications & Skills

- A vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with MSCC’s beliefs, vision, and values.
- Meets the biblical qualifications for pastoral ministry (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9; 1 Peter 5:1–4).
- Pastoral experience and a genuine shepherd’s heart for people.
- Strong relational, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to lead, equip, and encourage staff and volunteers with grace, clarity, and vision.
- Strong administrative and financial aptitude, with the ability to manage details, systems, and multiple priorities.
- A team-first mindset with a teachable, flexible, and collaborative spirit.
- Demonstrates wisdom, humility, integrity, discretion, and good judgment.

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
