We are seeking a passionate and experienced Jamaican Cuisine Cook to bring authentic flavors and vibrant culinary traditions to our establishment.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting traditional Jamaican dishes with precision and flair. Your expertise will contribute to creating a lively dining experience that celebrates the rich heritage of Jamaican food. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to food safety standards while delivering exceptional service to our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Jamaican dishes.
- Ensure all food preparation meets quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food safety regulations.
- Handle food with care, maintaining cleanliness and proper storage procedures to prevent contamination.
- Assist in meal planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and authenticity of dishes.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by following sanitation protocols regularly.
- Serve dishes promptly and professionally to guests, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate food service during busy hours and special events
Experience
- Proven food service experience in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment with a focus on Jamaican cuisine
- Extensive knowledge of Jamaican cooking techniques, ingredients, and traditional recipes
- Strong skills in meal preparation, cooking, and food handling practices
- Prior experience in a restaurant setting that emphasizes food safety standards and customer service excellence
- Familiarity with commerical kitchen equipment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Passion for authentic Jamaican cuisine and a commitment to delivering memorable dining experiences
Pay: $18.60 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
