Position: Team Lead - Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
Status: Permanent Full Time
Program: Specialized Housing
Site: 342 Percy Street

Purpose:

Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, this position will be responsible for assisting the Program Managers in various administrative functions of day-to-day operations of the Programs, as well as student placements.

This position will provide frontline services in the day-to-day program activities in such a manner as to ensure maximum benefits to clients and the community. All of the above is done in accordance with the agency/clients’ goals and objectives.

Education and Training:

- Proof of successful completion of a post-secondary education in Social Services or Nursing and proof of registration with the College of Nurses (if applicable

Requirements:

- A negative Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- A valid class G driver’s license and proof of insurance and daily access to a reliable vehicle
- Current Intermediate/Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certificate required
- Able to lift at a minimum 20 lbs. from squatting to standing position
- Bilingualism (English/French) is required

Experience:

- Minimum 1-3 years of demonstrated knowledge/experience in a leadership position/role
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of nursing experience working with vulnerable populations, specifically adults living with a serious and persistent mental illness and/or acquired brain injury (ABI) and/or Addictions and/or complex healthcare needs providing assessments and rehabilitation services
- Experience working in a community setting and working knowledge of community resources

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

- Basic working knowledge of computer software




- Ability to work cooperatively and independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in managing challenging behaviours
- Excellent interpersonal/verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality as per PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act)
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Residential Tenancy Act and the Health Care Consent Act
- Knowledge/experience using the principles and practices of psychosocial rehabilitation
- Knowledge of Community Treatment Orders
- Knowledge of the DSM V as it relates to criteria for service
- Provide support to Team members according to administrative policies and employee needs
- Demonstrated ability to manage and meet deadlines

French Language Services Required: Bilingualism in English and French is required for this FLS-designated position. Priority will be given to candidates who meet the bilingual requirement. However,



unilingual candidates are still encouraged to apply and may be considered if the French language requirement can be otherwise fulfilled or if no suitable bilingual applicants are identified. A formal French proficiency test will be conducted.
