Duties
- Operate skid steer loaders with precision, managing tasks such as grading, loading, and material handling across diverse construction sites
- Assist with the operation of other heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, backhoes, graders, and loaders to support project needs
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
- Support excavation activities by coordinating with team members for horizontal drilling, paving, and site preparation tasks
- Follow all safety protocols and construction procedures to maintain a secure work environment for everyone on site
- Collaborate closely with supervisors and crew members to execute project plans efficiently and effectively
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and work completed for project documentation
Skills
- Proven experience operating skid steer loaders in a construction setting with a solid understanding of heavy equipment operation principles
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic maintenance on machinery such as Caterpillar or similar brands
- Familiarity with dozer, excavator, backhoe, grader operation, and loader handling enhances versatility on-site
- Ability to operate other machinery including horizontal drills and paving equipment when required
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices to ensure a safe working environment
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
