Full-Time Medical Office Assistant (MOA)

Clarington Medical Clinic is looking for a Full-Time Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our growing family medicine team in Newcastle.
We are looking to fill this position on a short timeline, with a preferred start date of October 5, 2026. Candidates who are available to start earlier are encouraged to apply so that training and onboarding can begin as soon as possible.
Position Details
Position: Full-Time Medical Office Assistant
Location: C-50 Mill St North, Newcastle, Ontario
Compensation: $19–$22/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Start date: October 5, 2026 preferred
Schedule: Full-time, weekdays
Evenings: None
Weekends: None

About the Clinic
Clarington Medical Clinic is a family medicine clinic focused on providing comprehensive, patient-centred care while building a supportive and collaborative team.
Our current team consists of:
- 4 Family Physicians
- 1 Clinic Manager/MOA
- 1 Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

The Role
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Patient reception and check-in/check-out
- Answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
- Appointment scheduling and coordination
- Processing referrals and tracking outstanding referrals
- Prescription renewal workflows
- Managing incoming and outgoing faxes
- Scanning and organizing medical documents
- EMR inbox and administrative task management
- Processing forms and other medical documentation
- Communicating information to patients
- Communicating with pharmacies, specialists and other healthcare providers
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Supporting physicians and the RPN with day-to-day clinical workflows
- Participating in workflow improvement and other duties as required
Experience & Qualifications
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant, particularly in family medicine or primary care
- PS Suite experience
- Familiarity with EMR-based workflows
- Robust organizational and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Comfortable working independently while being an active member of a team
- Professional, friendly and compassionate approach to patient interactions
- Comfortable learning new technology and workflows
Injection Training
- Experience with injections or completion of an injection course is preferred.
- However, we are also interested in candidates who are motivated to learn and willing to complete an injection course.
- We value initiative, curiosity and a willingness to develop new skills.

If you have PS Suite experience and previous family medicine experience, that's an asset. If you're newer to primary care but bring the right attitude, organizational skills and willingness to learn, we'd also like to hear from you.
