Maple Villa is an independent 93-bed licensed long-term care home located in Burlington, Ontario. Maple Villa is fully accredited by Accreditation Canada and has been providing quality resident and family-focused care since 1971. We continually strive to make a difference, to provide Person and Family-centered care and provide services where safety is a priority.
Our interdisciplinary team are committed about the care for our residents, staff, families and volunteers and are consistently reflecting on practices and areas of improvement to provide exceptional, individualized, culturally competent care to our residents and maintain a strong and dedicated health care team.
We are opening a new Home in January 2027 that will support 256 residents in our community! The new Maple Villa is located on Palladium Way in north Burlington.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Director of Care, Evenings- RN, to join our team.
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and Director of Care (DOC) , the Associate Director of Care is responsible and accountable for ensuring the provision of optimum care to promote the wellbeing of each individual resident. Assists the DON and DOC in providing supervision of nursing and personal care services to ensure an outstanding level of resident care is maintained and enhanced on a continuous basis, in accordance with the policies of the Home and applicable legislation. Ensures a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Ensures that continuous quality improvement outcomes approved for the Home are met or exceeded, and demonstrates dedication to professional values and the mission, vision and values of the Home. Implements a culture focusing on resident and team member experience where we embrace “Better Living” by creating communities where ALL residents, families and staff thrive.
ADOC – RN may assume role of the Director of Care – Clinical in their absence.
Salary Range: $104,869–$113,513.58 annually, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications
● Must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss 79 and Ontario Regulation 246/22 ss. 51
● 2 years’ experience in Long Term Care preferred
● Post Secondary or Certification in Education, Adult education/Training or related field is an asset
● Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
● Must be computer literate

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs nursing skills in accordance with the standards of nursing practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Assesses, coordinates, implements,
evaluates, reports and documents actions to affect positive outcomes related to the residents’ health
- Responsible and accountable for the coordination, implementation and overall management of Home wide programs such as, but not limited to:
o Skin and Wound care
o Continence
o Dementia Care/Personal Expressions/Behavioural Supports Ontario programming
o Falls Prevention and Restraint Reduction
o Medication Management
o Pain and Palliative Care
o Staff and Resident Quality of Life
o Health and Safety
o Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Performs delegated tasks safely and effectively
- Actively participates as part of the interdisciplinary team

- Completes reports as required
- Ensures nursing staff perform assigned tasks and duties
- Follows all roles and responsibilities for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Participates as required in the formulation and review of policies and procedures, job routines, performance appraisals, goal and objectives
- Uses the CQI/Risk Management process to evaluate programs and ensure follow-up
- Contributes to resident assessment data quality and submission
- Participates in the recruitment, evaluation, discipline and termination of personnel
- Responsible for coordination and facilitating interdisciplinary care conferences and ensuring implementation of outcomes
- Required to promote wellness as a concept of living
- Responsible for coordinating and ensuring an effective communication system promoting team unity thereby enhancing the resident’s quality of life
- Promotes robust community linkages for sharing of resources
- Must actively participate in ongoing educational opportunities and promoting the concept of continuing education throughout the home
- Ensures the accurate completion of resident’s records reflecting the resident health status and care provided complying with legislative and Home requirements.

- Works cooperatively with students and volunteers to enhance resident care and foster community linkages

- Provides regular and timely reports on areas of risk including Critical Incidents, concerns and complaints and programs and initiatives to the Director of Care and Director of Nursing

- Participates in the manager on call and weekend on call rotations
- Occasionally fills in on the Home Areas in the absence of registered nursing staff
