Express is seeking a dedicated Cold Storage Dock Worker to join our reputable clients logistics team in north Calgary. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient and safe handling of goods within a cold storage environment, supporting seamless shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, LTL experience, and the ability to operate heavy equipment safely. Duties
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes, ensuring proper handling of cold storage goods.
- Perform order picking accurately within the warehouse management system to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying inventory counts and inspecting goods for quality and damage.
- Operate heavy machinery safely, including forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks manually or with mechanical assistance to move products within the cold storage facility.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock in designated areas and maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely loading/unloading schedules and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Utilize construction experience when necessary for handling specialized or bulky items requiring additional safety measures.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and company policies during all operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or similar logistics roles.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation such as forklifts.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for order picking and inventory control.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a cold storage workplace.
- Strong understanding of warehouse procedures including load & unload processes.
- Experience with warehouse experience or construction background is advantageous.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation combined with safety awareness is essential.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
