About the Position

Accent LED Lighting is looking for a reliable, motivated Shop & Field Assistant / Junior Installer to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with tools, learning new skills, staying organized, and working in different environments rather than doing the same thing every day.

You'll split your time between helping organize and prepare our shop, assisting with product and inventory, and working alongside our installation team on residential and commercial lighting projects throughout the Okanagan.

No professional lighting installation experience is required. We will train the right person.

Most importantly, this position has a real opportunity for advancement. As you become confident with our products and installation process, you can move into an independent installer role and eventually lead your own team of installers and manage your own job sites.

What You'll Be Doing: Installations, Shop Assistance & Field Work

- Assist with residential and commercial LED lighting installations
- Learn how to properly install and configure our permanent architectural lighting systems
- Prepare tools, equipment, ladders, materials, and products for each job
- Work safely and efficiently on active job sites
- Learn troubleshooting, wiring, controller setup, and basic system diagnostics
- Keep job sites organized and professional
- Assist with service calls and repairs
- Communicate professionally with customers while on site





Shop & Warehouse

- Prepare materials and equipment for upcoming installations
- Pull parts and products from inventory based on job requirements
- Receive incoming shipments
- Package outgoing shipments
- Maintain an organized and clean shop
- Help identify inventory that needs to be restocked

Service & Documentation

- Assist with customer service calls and troubleshooting
- Document completed work and service issues
- Take job-site photos when required
- Communicate issues or required materials back to management

- Comfortable working outdoors and in different weather conditions
- Comfortable working from ladders and at heights
- Able to follow instructions while also learning to work independently
- Professional and respectful around customers
- Able to solve basic problems without needing constant supervision
- Interested in developing a skilled trade and taking on more responsibility

Experience in construction, electrical, low-voltage wiring, landscaping, roofing, installation, warehouse work, or another hands-on trade is an asset, but not required.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with Google Workspace is also helpful.
