Underground Water & Sewer Labourer / Plumber – CCTV Experience

Renew Services Inc. is growing, and we’re looking for an Underground Water & Sewer Labourer / Plumber to join our team.

We specialize in outside, underground water and sewer infrastructure work, including trenchless sewer repairs, sanitary and water service lines, catch basins, manholes, fire hydrants, utility repairs, CCTV inspections, and related civil underground work.

Important: This is an underground utilities position

This role is not an indoor plumbing position and is not a hydrovac-only position.

We are looking for candidates with experience in underground water/sewer work, outside utility repairs, shoring, top man duties, ditch work, CCTV inspections, and reporting.

Plumbing experience is considered an asset, especially where it relates to underground water and sewer services, outside service work, water lines, sewer lines, valves, hydrants, or utility connections.

This position may be a good fit if you have experience with:

- Underground water and sewer installation, repair, or rehabilitation
- Sanitary sewer and water service lines
- CCTV sewer inspections and reporting
- Shoring and protected work practices in and around excavations
- Acting as top man and supporting workers in the ditch
- Digging in ditches and assisting with underground repairs
- Manholes, catch basins, fire hydrants, valves, or related underground infrastructure
- Working around existing underground utilities
- Following instructions and working safely as part of a crew
- Leading or directing a small team when required
- Plumbing experience related to underground water/sewer services

This position is not intended for candidates whose experience is primarily:

- Indoor residential or commercial plumbing only
- Fixture installation, drain cleaning, service calls, furnaces, HVAC, or mechanical rooms
- Hydrovac truck operation only
- General labour with no underground utility, ditch work, CCTV, or related construction experience

We need someone who can be a team player, follow direction, help keep the crew moving, assist with underground installations and repairs, complete CCTV inspections and reports, and help get jobs completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

- Experience with shoring and safe work practices around underground utility work
- Experience acting as top man and supporting ditch work
- Comfortable digging in ditches and assisting with underground repairs
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and complete work as directed
- Ability to lead or coordinate a small crew when needed
- Plumbing experience considered a strong asset, especially underground or service-line related
- Ability to follow project specifications and direction from supervisors
- Strong communication skills with management and field crews
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with basic equipment checks and maintenance
- Safety-focused, reliable, organized, and willing to jump in wherever needed
- Class 3 with Air Brakes considered a highly attractive asset

Responsibilities

- Participate in day-to-day field operations on underground water and sewer projects
- Complete CCTV sewer inspections and related reporting
- Assist with outside underground water and sewer installations, repairs, and rehabilitation work
- Perform top man duties and support workers in the ditch
- Assist with shoring setup and ensure safe work practices are followed
- Dig in ditches and assist with underground repairs as required
- Work around sanitary sewer lines, water lines, catch basins, manholes, fire hydrants, valves, and related infrastructure
- Assist with outside plumbing-related underground services where applicable
- Follow instructions from supervisors and complete tasks as directed
- Help lead or guide a small team when required
- Help keep projects moving according to timelines and site priorities
- Communicate with management, crews, and subcontractors as required
- Complete basic equipment checks and report equipment or safety concerns
- Ensure safety procedures and site requirements are followed
- Support the crew with general labour tasks as needed

Requirements

- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
- Steel-toed safety boots
- Experience in outside underground water and sewer, underground utilities, civil infrastructure,



or related construction
- Experience completing CCTV sewer inspections and reports
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather and site conditions
- Ability to work safely in and around ditches and underground utility work
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew
- Ability to lead or support a team when needed
- Safety-conscious and reliable
- Willingness to perform physical labour

Highly Attractive Assets

- Plumbing experience, especially related to underground water/sewer services
- Class 3 license with Air Brakes
- Experience around fire hydrants, valves, water services, sanitary services, manholes, or catch basins
- Experience with shoring systems and top man duties
- Equipment experience with compactors, skid steers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, or similar equipment
- Ground Disturbance Level II
- CSTS
- WHMIS
- H2S Awareness
- CPR & First Aid
