Corbett’s Ski + Snowboard is looking for a Part-Time Shop Technician to join our Collingwood team for the 2026–2027 winter season.

As part of the Corbett’s service team, you’ll play an important role in making sure our customers’ equipment performs at its best. From everyday tunes and repairs to high-performance preparation and technical service, our shop team takes pride in quality workmanship, attention to detail, and getting customers ready for the mountain.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced position in the heart of Ontario’s ski and snowboard community.

THE ROLE

As a Shop Technician, you will perform a variety of ski and snowboard services while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient service environment.

You will work closely with the Shop Manager and retail team to ensure every customer’s equipment is serviced safely, accurately, and to Corbett’s standards.

Quality workmanship, careful attention to detail, and safe, reliable service are at the heart of this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESTECHNICAL SERVICE

· Perform ski and snowboard tuning and repair services

· Complete binding installations and adjustments

· Perform edge sharpening and repair

· Complete base, sidewall, and topsheet repairs

· Wax, tune, and finish skis and snowboards

· Assist with race and high-performance preparation

· Inspect equipment and identify potential safety or service concerns

· Follow manufacturer specifications and Corbett’s technical service standards

· Operate professional tuning equipment, including Wintersteiger machinery

· Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail

· Complete service work within established quality and turnaround expectations

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Our technicians are an key part of the customer experience. You will:

· Provide professional and knowledgeable customer service

· Answer questions about equipment care, tuning, and maintenance

· Explain recommended repairs or services when required

· Communicate professionally with customers

· Treat every customer’s equipment with care and respect





· Work closely with the retail sales and boot fitting teams to create a seamless customer experience

SHOP OPERATIONS

· Accurately complete service work orders

· Use the Easyrent system as required to manage work orders and service information

· Maintain accurate service records

· Keep the service area clean, organized, and safe

· Properly use and care for shop tools and equipment

· Notify management of equipment or machinery maintenance requirements

· Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of tuning supplies

· Follow all Corbett’s health and safety procedures

· Assist with general shop organization and upkeep

TEAM SUPPORT

· Work collaboratively with other technicians and Corbett’s staff

· Participate in product knowledge and technical training

· Support tuning clinics and staff training when required

· Assist the retail team with customer service, stocking, and merchandising when needed

· Help with the movement and organization of skis, snowboards, and other equipment

EXPERIENCE

Previous ski or snowboard shop experience is preferred.

Experience with any of the following is an asset:

· Ski or snowboard tuning

· Binding mounting

· Ski or snowboard repair

· Race tuning or high-performance preparation

· Wintersteiger machinery

· Mechanical or technical work

· Bike or board-shop work

· Trades or other hands-on work

· Previous retail or customer service experience

We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for skiing and snowboarding.

AVAILABILITY

Flexible availability is required during fall and winter peak periods.



Weekend availability is an important consideration for this position.

Our busiest service periods occur throughout the fall and winter season, on weekends, during holidays, and throughout March Break. Candidates should have open availability during these times and be comfortable working:

· Weekdays

· Evenings

· Weekends

· Holidays

· Peak winter periods

· March Break

Additional availability during major snowfalls and peak periods is considered an asset.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is an active, hands-on position. Candidates must be comfortable:

· Standing for extended periods

· Performing repetitive technical tasks

· Working in a busy shop environment

· Lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 lb

· Safely handling skis, snowboards, tools, and tuning equipment
