CCTV Security System Technician – Mid Level IT Network Administrator

We are looking for an in-house CCTV and Access Security Technician for our 5 locations in London and Southwestern Ontario. No. You are NOT working for an installation contractor company.

The CCTV position is not a full-time time slot for the position although you are kept busy. So your duties are going to be augmented with providing the skills and support features of a Mid Level IT Network Administrator for the organization working alongside more senior Network Management.

Skill Set 1 that you MUST have extensive experience with;

You MUST have experience in CCTV and Security systems. That is core.

CCTC – Security

Core Responsibilities

- Installation: Set up CCTV surveillance cameras, IP networks, intrusion detection systems, and commercial door hardware.
- Wiring: Run, route, terminate, and test structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber).
- Configuration: Program security panels, configure routers or IP addresses, and test network connectivity.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose hardware faults, test electrical circuits, and repair defective components.
- Documentation: Read blueprints, follow technical diagrams, and keep accurate service records
- Document all your changes and installations in central company database

Skills, Abilities and Qualifications

- Understanding of wiring and electronic systems
- Be physically fit to do the installation and maintenance of cameras, cabinets and wireless access points
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and other diagrams used to explain systems
- Safety-minded with attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Some familiarity with electrical building codes as we do have electricians in the company as well
- Ability to use power and hand tools safely
- Experience with Scissor lifts at our various facilities.





Skill Set 2 that you MUST have experience with;

Mid-Level IT Network Administrator

- Experience Level: 3 to 5 years of relevant IT or networking experience
- Reports To: Senior Network Engineer
- Primary Goal: Ensure high availability, peak performance, and ironclad security of company networks and hardware

Core Responsibilities

You will supervise the computer network and its hourly operations. Make sure that our servers function properly, allowing customers and employees to communicate easily with each other, coordinate their activities, and take care of essential tasks.

· Server and Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (such as VMware and Hyper-V) to ensure high system uptime.

· User and Access Control: Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups via Active Directory or cloud platforms like Microsoft Entra ID.

· System Maintenance and Patching: Apply regular operating system updates, software patches, and security configurations to protect against vulnerabilities.

· Backups and Disaster Recovery: Monitor and execute routine data backups, test recovery protocols, and archive critical business data.

· Network and Security Monitoring: Oversee firewalls, monitor network performance, and analyze system logs for suspicious activity.

· Tier-2 Troubleshooting and Escalations: Resolve complex technical issues passed down from junior helpdesk support or escalate major architectural problems to senior engineers.

Pay: $64,000.00-$78,000.00 per year
