Construction Supervisor — Residential & Commercial

Darling Contracting and Development Inc.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Location: Norwood - Shop / 1 hour radius from Norwood - Various Sites
Pay: $38.00-$43.00

Lead the people. Organize the work. Keep the whole operation working together.

Darling Contracting and Development Inc. is hiring a Construction Supervisor to oversee residential and commercial work across projects large and small.

We’re looking for a practical, organized leader who understands construction, sets clear expectations and follows through. You’ll coordinate people, schedules and resources while ensuring the team’s operational responsibilities function together.

What you’ll do

- Plan and organize work across assigned projects, setting clear priorities and achievable schedules.
- Coordinate crews, subcontractors, fellow trades, materials and deliveries.
- Review plans and project requirements, anticipate obstacles and resolve issues before they delay work.
- Assign responsibilities, communicate expectations and hold team members accountable.
- Apply a solid understanding of construction health and safety to daily site operations.
- Monitor workmanship, project progress and outstanding deficiencies.
- Keep clients, management and trades informed of progress, decisions and schedule changes.
- Maintain useful project records and ensure issues are tracked through to resolution.
- Lead by example in how you treat people, care for properties and uphold commitments.

Manage the responsibilities that support every project

Our team members hold defined operational responsibilities, or “portfolios,” alongside their construction roles. The supervisor ensures each portfolio has a clear owner, that work is being completed and that information reaches the people who need it.

You’ll coordinate:

- Health and safety: Safe work planning, hazard identification, site practices and required records.
- Materials and deliveries: Timely ordering, accurate quantities, delivery coordination and readiness for upcoming work.
- Quality control: Clear workmanship expectations, checks during construction and correction of deficiencies.
- Warranty: Tracking concerns, arranging follow-up work and confirming completion.
- Documentation: Current plans, progress records, site photos, decisions and changes.
- Subcontractor and fellow-trade coordination: Clear scopes, sequencing, site readiness and communication between trades.

Your job is to make these areas operate as one coordinated whole. That means checking progress, addressing gaps and ensuring that each person understands how their responsibilities affect the rest of the team.

What you bring

- Experience supervising residential and commercial construction.

- Ability to organize both large and small projects and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to read plans and translate project requirements into practical work schedules.
- A strong working understanding of construction health and safety.
- Clear communication, sound judgment and consistent follow-through.
- The ability to lead respectfully, address problems directly and build accountability.
- A commitment to quality workmanship and responsible project execution.

What it means to lead at Darling

We recognize how much of life is spent at work, often sharing more waking hours with coworkers than with family. We cultivate a jobsite culture of loyalty, brotherhood and trust, where everyone belongs and people can depend on one another.

As supervisor, you help create that culture every day. You support your team, uphold standards and earn trust through fair decisions and dependable action.

Development means investing in people, improving our craft and contributing to our community. We support our community through hands-on work and financial assistance. We expect our leaders to carry that same sense of responsibility into every project, representing quality, respect and honour in both the finished work and the way it is accomplished.

Apply through Indeed with your résumé and a brief overview of the residential and commercial projects you have supervised, including your experience coordinating crews, schedules and trades.

Pay: $38.00-$43.00 per hour

Expected hours: 41.5 per week
