Position: Kitchen Manager

As the Kitchen Manager, you'll be responsible for improving the food quality and consistency, and be the expert on the kitchen line. You will be responsible for several kitchen leadership tasks including, but not limited to, inventory management, ordering management, quality management, waste management, schedule management, coordinating with front-of-the-house team members, coordinating with vendors, and any such tasks required to run the kitchen efficiently. We are hoping that you will provide the necessary leadership, guidance, and support to the other team members as needed.

You are expected to lead your team in all aspects of the restaurant through the following responsibilities:

- Controlling all orders and inventories
- Controlling cost of goods in relation to food and labour costs
- Ensuring adherence to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure quality standards are met
- Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with Food safety Guidelines
- Keeping over production of food and waste to a minimum,



ensuring proper rotation, labelling and storing of all food products
- Build and maintain a positive and safe work setting for all team members
- Ensure kitchen is clean, organized and all equipment is in good working order
- Costing and review of all schedules
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Collaborate with front of the house staff to ensure seamless service between the front and back of house.
- Prepare and cook menu items as needed according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Assist in food preparation as needed, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients
- Utilize and follow all Turtle Jack’s systems policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years management experience in a comparable restaurant environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of computers and restaurant inventory programs
- Knowledge and understanding of managing budgets, labour and food costs
- Strong leadership and development skills
- Food Handlers certification
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with food industry equipment and kitchen tools is a plus
- Strong understanding of serving, food service, and kitchen operations
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- All In positive attitude
