Assistant Corporate Controller

We are currently accepting applications for the role of Assistant Corporate Controller. This dynamic, highly organized individual will be located at our head office in St. John’s, NL. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Corporate Controller will help ensure the timely preparation of Ocean Choice’s monthly consolidated financial statements.

Responsibilities

- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements and HST filings.
- Prepare monthly financial analysis for the internal freight division.
- Perform intercompany account reconciliations in a multi-company environment with Canadian and foreign operations.
- Maintain and update various consolidation and business unit files for senior management.
- Assist with monitoring and implementing internal financial controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical and analytical support for the Accounts Payable and purchasing processes.




- Assist the Treasury team with financing activities and related analysis.
- Assist the Accounting team in preparing files and supporting documentation for the annual external audit.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual consolidated budget.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

Qualifications

- Degree in Commerce or Business with a major in Accounting.
- Relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- CPA designation would be considered an asset.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also available.
