A1 Bus is looking for an energetic and detail oriented Dispatch / Customer Service person to join our team. Starting as a temporary position to cover sick leave, it may turn to a permanent placement as we explore the need for multiple dispatchers covering a wider timeline.

The ideal candidate will be a self starter, a strong team player, excellent communicator, organized, effective, forward thinking and comfortable with technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work closely with customers, understanding their needs and ensuring the right drivers and vehicles are assigned to their booking
- Work closely with drivers, assigning trips according to their strengths and abilities, licensing, availability and need
- Record information, incidents and deficiencies, updating the central database and sharing critical information with correct departments
- Provide support and mentorship to drivers, ensuring they are set up for success so they in turn can deliver exemplary service to our customers
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow, effective communication and exceptional customer service for both internal and external customers
- Utilize computerized systems and software to complete tasks efficiently,



track driver assignments and bus information
- Continually strive to find efficiencies in your daily tasks
- Complete projects as assigned
- Perform other duties as required
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Available for on-call weekend rotation and variable shifts

QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable and proficient using computerized systems and software applications
- Detail oriented, self starter, quick learner with a “can-do” attitude
- Ability to visualize, organize and maximize assets for multiple concurrent events
- Ability to analyze information and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in a dispatch or logistics role preferred
- Valid Class 4, Class 2 with Air or Class 1 License considered an asset
