HeadHunting Inc. is currently recruiting experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs) for opportunities within senior living and continuing care communities across British Columbia.

We are looking for compassionate nurses who are comfortable working with elderly and disabled residents and who can combine solid clinical nursing skills with leadership, resident advocacy, medication management and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Vernon | Penticton | Gibsons | Salmon Arm | Kelowna | New Westminster.

Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process and established standards of care.
- Perform resident assessments and develop, review and update individualized care plans.
- Provide hands-on nursing care when required.
- Administer and manage medications according to established medication policies and procedures.
- Monitor residents for changes in health status and communicate concerns promptly to physicians, families and interdisciplinary team members.
- Participate in resident admissions, discharges and care conferences.
- Provide leadership, supervision, feedback and coaching to members of the care team.
- Assist with resident care assignments based on resident acuity and individual needs.
- Respond appropriately to resident, staffing and building emergencies.
- Identify and respond immediately to clinical and safety risks.




- Coordinate referrals to external healthcare providers and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary professionals.
- Maintain accurate, concise and timely clinical documentation.
- Advocate for resident needs, dignity, independence, privacy and quality of life.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices.
- Contribute to quality improvement and resident safety initiatives.

Qualifications

- Current registration with the applicable provincial nursing regulatory body.
- Registered Nurse Diploma required.
- BScN preferred.
- Gerontology certification is an asset.
- Current CPR and First Aid.
- Experience working with elderly and/or disabled populations.
- Palliative care experience preferred.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Strong computer and clinical documentation skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy care environment.

Pay: $51.00-$60.00 per hour
