Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and proficiency with industry-standard management tools, and have Northern or Industrial mine experience. This role is vital in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Construction Superintendent will serve as the primary point of contact on-site, managing teams, subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.

Responsibilities

1. Site Leadership & Coordination

- Provide daily onsite leadership and direction to crews, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinate with Project Manager on manpower, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient workflow and minimize delays.
- Conduct daily site meetings and communicate clear expectations for safety, quality, and schedule.

2. Safety Management

- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Ensure daily hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, and safety documentation are completed.
- Identify, correct, and report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near‑misses immediately.
- Ensure all workers and subcontractors are trained, competent, and following safe work practices.

3. Quality Control & Compliance

- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, codes, and Outline Construction Ltd’s quality standards.
- Conduct inspections at key stages and document deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Verify that materials and equipment delivered meet project and regulatory requirements.

4. Schedule & Workflow Management

- Communicate schedule impacts immediately to the Project Manager and recommend solutions.

5. Subcontractor & Supplier Oversight

- Coordinate subcontractors’ work to ensure clear scopes, sequencing, and expectations.




- Collaborate with Project Management to resolve performance issues.

6. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain accurate daily site logs (manpower, progress, delays, safety issues, weather, equipment).
- Submit required reports to the Project Manager, including progress updates and field changes.
- Ensure permits, inspections, and field paperwork are up to date and properly filed.

7. Problem Solving & Issue Resolution

- Identify and proactively resolve site conflicts, design discrepancies, and construction obstacles.
- Escalate complex issues to the Project Manager with recommended corrective actions.

8. Close‑Out & Turnover Activities

- Oversee completion of punch lists and ensure all deficiencies are corrected.
- Support collection and submission of close‑out documents.
- Assist with demobilization, site cleanup, and final inspections.

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Proficiency with site management tools (SiteDocs)
- Understanding of safety regulations and COR/OHS compliance
- Solid grasp of scheduling techniques and workflow planning
- Ability to conduct inspections and identify deficiencies

Experience

- Experience working at Industrial/Northern Mines in Saskatchewan.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisor role.
- 5 years concrete construction experience.
