We’re looking for a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Controller to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting effective operations across our branch locations.

Summary

The Inventory Controller position is responsible for supporting and maintaining accurate inventory levels throughout the department. This role oversees inventory-related activities including receiving, cycle counts, stock adjustments, shipping coordination, reporting, order processing, and inventory analysis to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction across all branch locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Receive all incoming Mack, Volvo and other vendors packing slips, and shipments.
- Match claims and invoices accurately.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular inventory audits.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory cycle counts.
- Analyze inventory reports and monitor stock levels (LPA).
- Replenish inventory shelves and maintain proper stock organization.
- Process and follow up on Mack/Volvo and VDSP orders.
- Post credits and daily branch transactions.
- Assist with stock transfers between branches.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to damaged shipments, receiving issues, or inventory variances.
- Maintain and organize inventory and warehouse locations to ensure a clean and efficient work environment.
- Prepare and maintain inventory catalogs and records.
- Support direct sales and special project activities as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with customers, staff and branch locations regarding inventory matters.
- Recommend inventory corrections and process required adjustments.




- Maintain accurate inventory pricing and update pricing records as required.
- Assist with obsolete inventory management and inventory classification.
- Review negative inventory reports and assist with corrective actions.
- Review “No Bin Location” reports and remedy with a bin location.
- Prepare returns (buy back).
- Assist accounts payable and document processing.
- Assist parts counter employees locating parts.
- Check low stock reports.
- Investigate stock discrepancies / damaged shipments.
- Reconcile core credits.
- Manually create new parts numbers not pulling from DFS ad update price accordingly.
- Mack / Volvo invoice auditing example freight / EHC.
- Review inventory classifications.
- Performs daily cycle counts.
- Reviews and adjust negative on hand reports.
- Review Ø stock report.
- Complete inventory reporting and documentation as required.
- Assist training new employees on inventory procedures and processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Complete all ARIBA customer processing including purchase orders and invoices.

Qualification Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required to successfully perform the job.

Education and/or experience

- 1-2 years shipping/receiving and/or warehouse experience




- Working knowledge of Fusion an asset

Language Skills

- High standard of fluency in English for both oral and written correspondence. Ability to effectively present information

Mathematical Skills

- Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.

Reasoning Ability

- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
