We are recruiting a experienced qualified Operations Manager to join our Calgary team, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our operational efficiency and provide quality professional transportation service for our valued customers.

Job Description:

As a Trucking Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our trucking operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods. You will lead a team of drivers, dispatchers, and logistics personnel to optimize fleet utilization, maintain compliance with regulations, and deliver exceptional service to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the trucking industry.

Responsibilities:

Fleet Management: Oversee the management of our fleet of trucks and trailers, to ensure all trailer pools are maintained and all trucks are assigned drivers.

Driver Management: Supervise a team of drivers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure adherence to company policies and safety regulations.

Route Planning: Develop efficient transportation routes to optimize fuel consumption, minimize delivery times, and maximize the use of resources.

Dispatch Operations: Coordinate with dispatchers to schedule and assign drivers to specific routes, monitor progress, and address any issues or delays that may arise.

Customer Service:



Maintain open lines of communication with customers to address inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure customer satisfaction with our services.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure federal regulations governing the trucking industry are followed, ensuring compliance with hours of service, weight limits, and other legal requirements.

Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimize accidents, injuries, and property damage, conducting regular safety training sessions for drivers and staff.

Cost Management: Monitor and manage operational costs, including fuel expenses, maintenance, and labor, to optimize profitability and ensure budget adherence.

Performance Analysis: Utilize data analytics tools to track key performance metrics, identify trends, and implement strategies for continuous improvement in operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5+ year proven experience in a managerial role within the transportation industry, with a comprehensive understanding of logistics operations.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve targets and objectives.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and systems.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
