CST Coal is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer In Training to enhance mining safety through effective risk management of geotechnical hazards. Focus on pit wall and waste rock safety. In this pivotal role, you will report to the Superintendent of Geotechnical Engineering and Geology, handling field inspections and slope monitoring systems.
Your responsibilities also encompass performing geotechnical analyses, generating reports for regulatory compliance, and participating in geotechnical drilling campaigns. Engage within a collaborative team setting dedicated to safety. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing field geotechnical inspections for risk management
- Develop and install slope monitoring strategies effectively
- Analyze geotechnical data and prepare detailed reports
- Generate monthly and quarterly inspection reports
- Assist in executing geotechnical drilling campaigns Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geological or Mining Engineering
- Previous experience in open pit mining is an asset
- Familiarity with RocScience geotechnical software is preferred
- Commitment to zero-incident safety practices
