CCHR seeks a dedicated Lawyer specializing in tenant rights in Toronto, with a flexible remote work setup. Use your Ontario housing law expertise to advocate for vulnerable renters. This full-time role at CCHR will involve significant client interaction and case management, supporting low-income tenants facing housing challenges.
You will play a crucial role in representing clients, negotiating disputes, and collaborating with community partners. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about housing equity, this position is for you. Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients at eviction hearings and tenant applications
- Conduct legal negotiations and mediation with landlords
- Maintain detailed notes and client records in relevant systems
- Build relationships with community organizations and service providers
- Facilitate educational workshops on housing rights Requirements:
- Called to the Bar of Ontario with at least 3 years of legal experience
- Proven experience with landlord-tenant legal matters
- Solid familiarity with housing law and equity-seeking issues
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
