Role Description The Mechanical Engineering Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Elie, MB. This role involves designing and improving mechanical components and systems for grain dryers and handling equipment, from concept through to production. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing detailed CAD models and drawings, performing mechanical calculations and analysis, and collaborating with production and electrical teams to ensure designs are practical, safe, and cost-effective.





The specialist will also support ongoing projects by managing documentation, contributing to timelines, and assisting in testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities on existing equipment. Occasional on-site inspection and support for installations and service work may be required.

Qualifications

- Strong Mechanical Engineering foundation, including experience with mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating detailed models, assemblies, and technical drawings.
- Analytical Skills for performing calculations, assessing design performance, and solving technical problems.
- Effective Communication abilities for collaborating with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Project Management skills to organize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate engineering activities.
- Relevant post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, or manufacturing environments is an asset.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practical field experience with equipment installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting is beneficial.
