Position: Project Manager (preclinical radiopharmaceutical development)
Location: Remote, Canada (OR hybrid 1 day/week for candidates in the Greater Toronto Area)
Overview:
Cadena Research is a Canadian radiopharmaceutical CRO seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee preclinical radiopharmaceutical projects for global clients. This hybrid role combines project management, scientific coordination, and client relationship management.
Reporting to the VP Contract Research, the Project Manager will plan, design, execute, and deliver complex radiopharmaceutical projects across discovery, R&D;, and preclinical phases, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, minutes, progress reports, and study monitoring updates.
The role ensures timely service delivery, strong client satisfaction, and effective cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate has radiopharmaceutical project management experience in R&D; or preclinical programs within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotech setting.
Responsibilities:
· Manage cross-functional radiopharmaceutical project delivery from feasibility through IND-enabling studies.
· Serve as the main contact for clients, contractors, vendors, and partners, ensuring clear communication of expectations, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
· Coordinate internal and external activities across radiochemistry, in vivo/in vitro studies, modeling, regulatory, advisory, and medical writing functions.
· Manage project scope, resources, timelines, risks,
and issue resolution using project management best practices.
· Track progress, prepare updates, monitor KPIs, and report on project performance, resource utilization, efficiency, and financial status.
· Support invoicing by aligning completed project deliverables with finance requirements.
· Support Business Development by contributing to proposals, budgets, sponsor engagement, and communication of client needs to operational teams.
· Maintain current expertise in radiopharmaceutical science, technology, and industry developments.
· Occasional travel for client engagements, site monitoring, and industry events.
Qualifications:
- Post graduate degree in life sciences, pharmacology, nuclear medicine, or related field.
- 5+ years of radiopharmaceutical experience as a project manager within a CRO or pharmaceutical company, or in a scientific role involving coordination of radiopharmaceutical development studies.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
- Solid leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with project management software tools.
Pay Transparency & Hiring Process Disclosure In accordance with Ontario’s Pay Transparency legislation, the expected compensation range for this role is $120,000–$140,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
