What You'll Be Doing

As an Estimator, you'll be responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for heavy civil, earthworks, and underground construction projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing detailed estimates for underground earthworks and heavy civil projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents
- Performing quantity takeoffs and developing accurate cost estimates
- Obtaining and analyzing subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Developing material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates
- Identifying project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and potential cost impacts
- Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Assisting with bid preparation, tender submissions, and closing deadlines
- Reviewing project requirements and identifying opportunities and potential challenges
- Supporting procurement and subcontractor negotiations as required
- Maintaining accurate estimating documentation and cost information
- Participating in post-bid reviews and helping improve estimating processes

What We're Looking For





This role requires a minimum of 2+ years of estimating experience specifically involving underground earthworks projects.

The ideal candidate will also have:

- 2+ years of underground earthworks estimating experience
- Solid experience estimating heavy civil and earthworks projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, productivity, labour, equipment, and material costs
- Experience completing detailed quantity takeoffs
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Strong understanding of project scopes, schedules, and construction requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
- Solid communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
