We are currently hiring a Guidewire Business Systems Analyst (BSA) for our consulting client, working on a long term contract with a leading global IT consulting client.

Role: Core Network SME (Packet Core)
Number of Roles: 1
Rate Range: $70-72/hr C2C
Duration: 6-12 months + extensions

Location: Hybrid (2/3 days onsite) - Brampton

Job Description: Core Network SME with Packet Core (5G/LTE/3G) experience responsible for supporting the design, implementation, integration, operations, and optimization of wireless packet core and IP network technologies.

Location: Brampton, ON - Hybrid (2-3 Days WFO)

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for wireless packet core technologies across 5G, LTE, and 3G environments.
- Support the design, instantiation, integration, validation, implementation, and testing of wireless packet core platforms.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including HLDs, LLDs, IP Flows, MOPs, TOLs, and ATPs.
- Support and manage 5G Standalone Core components including AMF, SMF, and UPF.
- Support Evolved Packet Core (EPC) components including MME, PGW, SGW, HSS, and ePDG.
- Perform daily operational support, maintenance, health checks, and troubleshooting of packet core nodes and packet data services.
- Utilize cloud and virtualization technologies to automate workflows and manage CNF/VNF platform lifecycles.




- Conduct integration validation, end-to-end testing, KPI reporting, and performance monitoring.
- Act as the highest escalation point for fault identification, analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of IP and Access network issues.
- Support change management activities including impact assessments, procedure reviews, implementation, and post-change validation.
- Design and implement automation solutions across Network Operations using in-house and open-source tools.
- Identify automation and operational improvement opportunities through data-driven analysis.
- Support the introduction of new technologies and services into Enterprise Network Operations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on network design, performance, and operational issues.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation as required.

Core Qualifications

- Degree or Diploma in Networking, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience working within a Telecommunications or Service Provider workplace.
- Strong expertise with wireless packet core technologies across 5G, LTE, and 3G networks.
- Hands-on experience with:
- 5G Core (AMF, SMF, UPF)
- EPC (MME, PGW, SGW, HSS, ePDG)




- Strong networking knowledge involving routers, switches, firewalls, routing, subnetting, and network protocols.
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP networking and routing protocols including:
- OSPF
- ISIS
- BGP
- EIGRP
- MPLS
- MPLS VPN
- Multicast
- Experience with Nokia technologies such as:
- Nokia 7750 SR
- Nokia 7210 SAS
- TiMOS / SR OS
- 5620 NSP/CPAM
- Experience with Nokia 7360 XGS-PON and 5520 AMS platforms or similar OLT solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Security and DDoS Mitigation technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and drive resolution independently.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting network change management and operational processes.

Preferred Qualifications

- NRS-II+ Certification.
- Experience with Splunk, Grafana, and other data analytics or log-parsing tools.
- Experience with network automation and scripting.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or training.
- Experience working with cloud-native network functions (CNF) and virtual network functions (VNF).
- Strong understanding of network performance management and KPI reporting.
