About Dispatch
We're a retention marketing agency for DTC brands doing $5–50M. Email, SMS and lifecycle strategy that's actually strategic — over 2 billion emails sent and $100M+ in attributed email revenue. We're a small, senior, fully distributed team.
The role
This is the person who owns the day-to-day of a client account so the strategist can stay on strategy. Roughly 90% project management and client communication, 10% strategy
. That 10% is critical: you need enough retention and email knowledge to know which requests you can simply handle, and which genuinely need a strategist.
You'll be the fastest, clearest, most organized person in the client channel. When a brand says "we're extending the promo, can we add an email?", you can scope it, brief it, put it on the calendar and confirm the date with the strategist. You are not a task babysitter and this is not a coordinator seat: you own outcomes on your accounts.
Each Account Manager is paired one-to-one with a Retention Strategist and supports that strategist's full book of accounts, as part of a pod: strategist + account manager + creative associate + designer + Klaviyo implementer.
What you'll do
- Own client intake: monitor your client Slack channels, respond to and resolve everything within your scope, and escalate real strategy questions to your strategist with the context already attached.
- Handle in-flight campaign changes end to end: promo and discount swaps, copy and design tweaks, send-date and send-time changes, added sends for extensions.
- Write briefs for straightforward net-new sends and get a quick strategist sign-off.
- Keep the campaign calendar and ClickUp tasks accurate — dates, send times, statuses, owners.
- QA campaigns and flows before they go out (links, offers, segments, agile content, mobile rendering) and own the fix loop with copy, design and implementation.
- Coordinate requests across the delivery team — list and segment exports, design revisions, Klaviyo build changes — and close the loop with the client.
- Brief your strategist ahead of strategy calls: what changed, what was promised, what's outstanding.
- Join client calls alongside your strategist, then own the follow-ups and next steps.
- Flag risk early: slipping dates, missing client input, scope creep, unhappy signals.
How this works with your strategist Your strategist stays the strategic voice and keeps the client relationship. You make sure everything promised actually happens, on time and correctly. Clients should feel like they gained a second dedicated person — never like they got handed off.
What you need
- 2–4 years at an email/retention, lifecycle or ecommerce agency as an account manager, project manager or junior strategist.
- Working knowledge of Klaviyo and DTC email/SMS: campaigns vs flows, segments, promo mechanics, and why a send date or offer matters.
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Highly organized
- Comfortable in ClickUp, Google Sheets, Figma and Slack, and interested in using AI tooling to remove your own busywork.
Nice to have
- Shopify experience
- Klaviyo flow QA experience
- Basic HTML and email QA
- Experience working in a pod structure
What success looks like at 90 days
- Your strategist's calendar contains strategy work only.
- No client message waits more than a few hours.
- The campaign calendar and ClickUp match reality every day.
- QA catches issues before the client does.
