Position Overview As the Accounting Supervisor, you will oversee the accounting function and be responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information. Reporting to the Director of Accounting & Administration with a direct line of communication to the parent company’s SVP of Finance & Accounting, you will lead month-end and year-end close activities, oversee financial reporting and analysis, support audit and regulatory requirements, and provide technical accounting guidance to the accounting team.

This position provides functional and supervisory oversight to the Senior Accountant –Team Lead and other accounting team members, ensuring accounting activities are completed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, AP, AR, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and account reconciliations.
- Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, amortization, and other closing adjustments.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Perform meaningful financial and variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
- Investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions, and significant variances and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Prepare and maintain audit-ready working papers and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate and support external and post-close audits, including responding to auditor requests and resolving accounting questions.
- Assist with government, statutory, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Assist with accounting for our fleet,



vehicles, equipment, capital expenditures, depreciation, and disposals.
- Analyze transportation-related expenses, including fuel, repairs and maintenance, insurance, licensing, and other operating costs.
- Work closely with Operations, Fleet, Payroll, and other departments to ensure accurate financial information.
- Review and provide technical accounting guidance on work performed by the Senior Accountant – Team Lead, Accounting Administrator (AR Sup.), and Junior accounting team members.
- Monitor the quality, accuracy, and completeness of accounting work and provide feedback and coaching as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and overall efficiency.
- Support the Director of Accounting & Administration and management team with financial analysis, reporting, and special projects.
- Maintain regular communication with the SVP of Finance & Accounting at the Parent Company.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Experience & Qualifications

- 5 – 7 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years of full-cycle accounting responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Experience working with external auditors
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with QuickBooks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both Finance and Operations teams.
- High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.
- Review current processes and procedures and recommend changes.

Preferred Qualifications

- Trucking, transportation, logistics, fleet, or another asset-intensive industry
- Previous public company experience with IFRS, and/or US GAAP and/or public-company reporting requirements
- CPA designation highly preferred.
