Irvin Heritage is seeking 1-2 Archaeological Field Directors to help facilitate in-field project management. This is a leadership position within the company set aside for candidates who demonstrate strong communication skills, creative problem solving traits, and the ability to foster a positive team atmosphere. As an IHI Field Director you will lead groups of Archaeological Field Technicians across the province on a variety of site types.

IHI has projects from a variety of cultural backgrounds, time periods, and site uses on the go for 2026 and 2027.

This position is best suited for a candidate with experience in leadership positions.

Requirements

Applied Research or Skilled License under Ontario's Ministry of Citizenship & Multiculturalism

Thorough practical knowledge of Ontario's Heritage Act and Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists and all subsequent Bulletins





Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

Ability to travel daily to variable work locations

Ability to stay consecutive nights up to 5 days out of town

Ability to work a physically demanding job in a variety of outdoor conditions

Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with all stakeholders

About the Company

We offer

Competitive compensation based on experience and performance

Starting wages: $30.00/hr+

Single Occupancy hotel rooms and per diem for all out of town work

Irvin Heritage Inc operates on 37.5 hour work week scheduled over 4 days.

The Field Director position is full time salary track position .

Field
