Elevate your conservation career at the Art Gallery of Ontario as a full-time Conservator for works on paper. This Toronto-based position is dedicated to the preservation and aesthetic enhancement of paper artworks. As part of the Conservation team, you'll assess and treat artworks in both the permanent collection and temporary custody.
Your role will entail defining conservation requirements for handling and exhibition while providing input on significant decisions regarding art preservation. Engage with the community through research, presentations, and collaborative projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform conservation treatments to enhance artwork stability
- Conduct examinations to identify conservation needs
- Set conservation criteria for exhibitions and loans
- Represent the Gallery in conservation-related inquiries
- Research advancements in conservation methodologies Requirements:
- Master’s degree in conservation with extensive experience
- In-depth knowledge of paper conservation techniques
- Skilled in precise operations affecting artworks
- Solid ability to interpret research and findings
