Company Description Jain Immigration Law is a specialized immigration law firm that focuses on navigating complex legal issues and preventing problems before they arise for individuals, families, and corporations. The firm assists with a wide range of temporary and permanent residence applications, including federal, provincial, and business immigration programs.

Law also provides expert legal opinions to other lawyers, handles citizenship and inadmissibility matters, and represents clients in appeals before all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court of Canada, including immigration class actions.

Role Description The Associate Lawyer will work full time in a remote capacity, providing legal advice and representation on Canadian matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing client eligibility, preparing and reviewing applications and supporting documentation, drafting legal submissions, and managing files related to temporary and permanent residence, citizenship, and inadmissibility issues. The role involves conducting detailed legal research, preparing legal opinions, and assisting with appeals and litigation before administrative tribunals and courts.

Experience with LMIAs is required.

The Associate

Lawyer will communicate regularly with clients, collaborate with internal team members, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration legislation,



regulations, and policy changes. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple files efficiently in a remote work environment.

Qualifications

- Strong legal research, analytical, and legal writing skills, with the ability to draft clear submissions and opinions.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in Canadian immigration law (temporary and permanent residence, citizenship, inadmissibility, and appeals).
- Client service skills, including effective communication, empathetic listening, and the ability to explain complex legal concepts in accessible language.
- File and time management skills, including attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote setting.
- Cooperative skills for working with colleagues, support staff, and external counsel, as well as the ability to work independently.
- License to practice law in a Canadian province or territory in good standing.
- Prior experience in immigration litigation or tribunal work, including experience with the Immigration and Refugee Board or Federal Court.
- Prior experience with LMIAs.
- Proficiency with legal practice management software and secure remote work tools; strong general computer literacy.
