Weaver Group currently has an opening for a: Automotive Technician
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the General Manager and Shop Foreman, the Automotive Technician will be required to perform diagnoses and repairs on light duty vehicles and small engines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect, troubleshoot and repair various mechanical issues.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in shop and own work area.
- Comply with OHS legislation in addition to other municipal, provincial, or federal legislations.
- Report any safety concerns to the Shop Foreman immediately
- Report machinery defects or malfunctions to the shop foreman
- Complete detailed and concise work orders.
- Communicate with parts department / shop foreman to requisition parts, materials and equipment as needed.
- Road test vehicles when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Red Seal or Journeyperson Automotive Technician preferred (apprentices will be considered).
- Must have own tools.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license required.
- Able to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol, medical and physical screening.
- Basic computer skills, including use of email, Microsoft Word, and OEM software.
- Capable of working in a high-pressure environment safely.
- Able to present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers.
