Empower Indigenous participants as a Cultural Support Worker at Bissell Centre. Engage in community support and cultural guidance in a quick-paced environment. This role with Bissell Centre’s Indigenous Engagement team focuses on empowering community members by promoting Indigenous cultural practices.
You'll provide direct support through one-on-one conversations, workshops, and access to land-based practices. Your efforts will contribute to our strategy of eliminating poverty and fostering inclusion. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate community workshops and sharing circles
- Implement holistic cultural support processes
- Assist with access to Indigenous ceremonies
- Help participants reconnect with their cultural identities
- Support the integration of Indigenous practices within the organization Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in a related field required
- Minimum 2 years of similar experience
- Advanced understanding of Indigenous world views
- Knowledge of traditional ceremonies and teachings
- Familiarity with TRC’s Calls to Action Bring your passion for cultural empowerment to Bissell Centre's Indigenous engagement initiatives.
