Title: Manufacturing Excellence Training Coordinator
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Rexdale, ON
Background & Purpose of the Role
- The Manufacturing Excellence Training Coordinator is an entry-level, 12-month contract opportunity for a recent engineering graduate who wants hands-on exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing workplace. In this role, you will help strengthen site capability by creating clear, practical training materials, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical training guides, and job-specific learning plans that support safe, consistent, and efficient factory operations.
Role Main Expectations:
- Create, update, and organize technical training materials, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), One Point Lessons (OPLs), work instructions, checklists, training guides, and presentations.
- Translate shop-floor processes into clear, accurate, and easy-to-follow documentation for operators and support teams.
- Ensure training materials are current, standardized, and aligned with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
- Support the development of role-based learning plans and training pathways for employees.
- Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Manufacturing Excellence teams to identify training needs and address skill gaps.
- Maintain training matrices, skills assessments, and training records, and provide regular progress updates to site leadership.
- Support continuous improvement, standard work, and capability-building initiatives that enhance safety, quality, reliability, productivity, and overall operational performance.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong written communication skills with an interest in SOP development, training documentation, and technical writing.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, LMS tools, or Power BI is an asset.
- Interest in Lean manufacturing, standard work, continuous improvement, safety, quality, and operator capability development.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to work with cross-functional teams in a factory environment.
- Flexibility to occasionally support training needs across shifts.
- Basic knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
