Cardiologist – Outpatient Practice, Ottawa, Ontario

On behalf of our client, an established outpatient cardiology practice with a growing footprint in Ottawa, including a new expansion location, we are recruiting Cardiologists to join their expanding outpatient practice in Ottawa, Ontario.

The client's facilities are modern, state of the art, providing clinical cardiology services and a wide array of non invasive diagnostic services, including: Exercise and Persantine SPECT Myocardial Perfusion Imaging, Echocardiography, Exercise Echocardiography, Extended Holter Monitoring, Stress Testing, and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring.

The practice has a large established referral base from the growing city of Ottawa and the greater Ottawa-Carleton Valley area, from family medicine practices, other specialists, and Emergency rooms. They are also in collaboration with the Ottawa Heart Institute for the Heart Failure Hub and Spoke model, and the Post PCI Revascularization Clinic, and serve as a teaching site for Physician Assistants, the Cardiovascular Technology Program, and the Cardiovascular Sonography Program.

Their Nuclear Cardiology Imaging service is equipped with a state of the art nuclear imaging camera, allowing low radiation dose protocols and timely access for patients.

The echocardiography lab has been awarded the accreditation certificate by Core Health Ontario and Accreditation Canada.

The cardiology team works alongside a team of other allied health care professionals, such as Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Cardiac Technologists, and Sonographers.

Candidates can be proposed for hospital privileges at Montfort Hospital,



conditional to hospital manpower plans and criteria.

The client's facilities are located within well maintained buildings, utilize paperless cloud based EMR, and offer state of the art IT infrastructure with competitive overhead expenses.

Requested Qualifications:

Canadian, American, or British trained in Cardiology.

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certified/Eligible.

Desirable Qualifications
- PhD
- Experience in stress / 3D echocardiography
- Experience in heart failure
- Experience of working in a tertiary centre service in either Heart Failure.
- Experience of working in a tertiary centre service in either inherited cardiac conditions,
- cardiac sarcoidosis or pulmonary hypertension
- CCT in Cardiology, or is due to attain CCT within 6 months of interview
- Has completed an audit or implemented a quality improvement project with measurable and significant positive impact
