Carpenter – (Multi-Skilled Tradesperson) – Ottawa

Position Summary

Carpenters at On Side rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state Carpenters (Multi-Skilled Tradespeople) use the skills of carpenters, drywallers and painters! If you’re passionate about helping people and skilled at making things right, this is your chance to make a real difference.

Compensation

- Salary Range: $28-$32/hour

What You’ll Do

- Finishing work and fine details, rough and trim
- Installation, doors, trim, moldings, baseboards and hardware
- Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
- Drywall repairs, mudding, sanding, taping and finishingBrush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim)
- Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing
- Insulation and vapor barrier installation
- Cabinetry (removal, repair, reinstallation)
- Flooring installation and repairs
- Framing

What You Bring

- 5+ years doing interior repairs/restoration
- 2+ years of interior finish work
- 2+ years of drywall repairs including mudding, sanding, taping and finishing




- Refined skills with various in-home renovation repairs/restoration vs current build
- Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
- Tools and the skills to use them
- Strong people and communication skills
- A safety mindset
- Tech-savvy (comfortable using apps and software)
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken

- Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
