OASIS - Ontario Agencies Supporting Individuals with Special Needs
Toronto
Ontario Agencies Supporting Individuals with Special Needs (OASIS) serves as the provincial voice of the developmental services sector, strengthening leadership, building organizational capacity, advancing public policy, and advocating for a sustainable and responsive developmental services system. Through government relations, conferences, communities of practice, research, learning opportunities, and collaborative initiatives, OASIS helps members share knowledge, address common challenges, and improve services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families across the province. As the complexity and demands of the sector increased, OASIS undertook a deliberate transition to a professionally staffed organization supported by a governance focused Board of Directors.
This transformation, completed in 2025, has positioned the organization for long term sustainability, increased capacity, and greater sector impact.
As OASIS enters its next phase of growth and organizational maturity, the Board seeks an exceptional Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will:
- provide strategic and operational leadership;
- advance member engagement;
- advocate;
- undertake government relations; and,
- ensure organizational excellence.
As OASIS’s primary ambassador, the CEO will strengthen relationships with members, government, and sector partners while championing public policy priorities that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. This is a unique opportunity to lead a talented remote team and enhance the sustainability, impact, and growth of a respected provincial organization.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished executive who brings:
- Senior leadership experience in the nonprofit, public, broader public, association,
or related sector;
- Strategic, operational, and financial acumen, with the judgment to navigate complex environments;
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence diverse stakeholders;
- Experience working with and reporting to a volunteer Board;
- Political acuity, diplomacy, sound judgment, and strong communication and consensus-building skills; and
- A genuine commitment to the developmental services sector, inclusion, equity, and quality of life for people with developmental disabilities.
