Job Overview
KADIVA CARE GROUP INC. is seeking compassionate, reliable, and professional Child & Youth Care Workers / Residential Support Workers to join our team in a residential group-home setting supporting teenagers and youth.
The successful candidates will help create a protected, structured, respectful, and supportive home environment while helping youth develop independence, confidence, social skills, and practical life skills.
We are looking for individuals who are patient, dependable, emotionally mature, and genuinely committed to supporting young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care, supervision, guidance, and support to teenagers in a residential group home environment.
- Build positive, respectful, and professional relationships with youth.
- Support daily routines, meals, personal hygiene, appointments, school activities, and household responsibilities.
- Assist youth in developing independent living, social, communication, and life skills.
- Plan and participate in recreational, educational, social, and community activities.
- Encourage positive decision making, problem solving, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution.
- Follow individualized care and support plans.
- Monitor and document daily activities, behaviours, incidents, progress, and concerns.
- Respond appropriately to challenging situations while maintaining safety, dignity, and skilled boundaries.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming residential environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, educators, case managers, and other professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy and dignity of every youth.
- Follow KADIVA policies, procedures, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings,
training, supervision, and professional development.
- Serve as a positive role model for the youth we support.
Qualifications A Diploma or Certificate in one of the following fields is preferred:
- Child and Youth Care (CYW)
- Personal Support Worker (PSW)
- Developmental Services Worker (DSW)
- Community and Developmental Services Worker (CDSW)
- Social Services, Human Services, or a related field.
Experience
- Experience working with teenagers, youth, or vulnerable populations is an asset.
- Residential/group home experience is an asset.
- Solid communication, observation, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and able to maintain professional boundaries.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Genuine commitment to the safety, well being, and development of youth.
Additional Assets
- Current CPR/First Aid and crisis prevention/de-escalation training are assets.
- Trauma informed care training.
- Behavioural support experience.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation, where required.
Schedule
Both full-time and part-time positions are available. Residential work may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
