Predator Drilling is looking for a reliable, safety-focused, and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our operations and support the safe and efficient movement of drilling rig equipment.

The Class 1 Rig Moving Driver plays a critical role in transporting drilling rig equipment, materials, and support equipment between locations. This position requires strong driving skills, attention to detail, mechanical awareness, and a commitment to safe transportation and rig move practices.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their equipment, understands the importance of safe load handling, and can work effectively as part of a rig move team.

What You'll Do

- Safely operate Class 1 commercial vehicles and trailers used to transport drilling rig equipment.
- Transport rig components, equipment, pipe, tools, materials, and other loads between drilling locations, yards, and designated facilities.
- Participate in rig moves, including loading, securing, transporting, unloading, and positioning equipment.
- Safely load and secure various types of drilling equipment in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
- Inspect vehicles, trailers, chains, binders, straps, and other load-securement equipment before and during each trip.
- Ensure loads are properly distributed, secured, and within applicable weight and dimension requirements.
- Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and ongoing vehicle inspections.
- Identify and report mechanical issues, equipment defects, unsafe conditions, or load-security concerns.
- Assist with the protected positioning and placement of equipment at rig sites.
- Work closely with the Rig Manager, Driller, rig crew, dispatch, and other drivers to coordinate rig move activities.
- Follow all company, regulatory, environmental, and occupational health and safety requirements.

Required

What We're Looking For

- Valid Class 1 driver's licence.
- Clean and acceptable driver's abstract.
- Previous experience hauling or moving drilling rig equipment is strongly preferred.




- Experience with flat decks, lowboys, or other rig-moving equipment is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of load securement requirements and safe hauling practices.
- Robust understanding of commercial vehicle safety requirements.
- Ability to safely inspect, secure, and transport heavy and oversized equipment.
- Strong awareness of surroundings and changing site conditions.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a rig move team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Physically capable of assisting with loading, unloading, securing, and positioning equipment.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel as required by operational demands.
- Current safety certifications such as H2S and First Aid/CPR and CSO

Safety & Transportation Commitment At Predator Drilling, safe transportation is an essential part of safe drilling operations. As a Class 1 Rig Moving Driver, you are responsible for operating your vehicle and handling every load with the highest level of care and attention. This includes completing proper inspections, following load-securement procedures, complying with hours-of-service requirements, maintaining safe following distances and speeds, and ensuring all transportation activities comply with company and regulatory requirements. Rig moves require teamwork and communication. You are expected to stop and address unsafe conditions, communicate concerns before moving a load, and work closely with the rig crew to ensure equipment is moved safely from one location to the next.
