We support children, teens, adults, and families in Winnipeg and Western Manitoba. Individuals may have an intellectual or physical disability. Or they may use American Sign Language to communicate. We encourage each person we support to be as independent as possible.

We are seeking adaptable, compassionate, and dependable Casual Support Workers to join our relief pool across diverse service areas.

Job Responsibilities:

- Person-Centered Support: Assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, life-skills development, and community participation.
- Relationship Building: Establish trusting, consistent, and respectful relationships grounded in trauma-informed principles.
- Positive Behavioral Support: Implement individualized support plans and practice non-violent crisis intervention and proactive de-escalation strategies.




- Advocacy & Mentorship: Encourage autonomy, self-advocacy, and emotional regulation tailored to each person's unique strengths and goals.
- Documentation & Safety: Complete clear daily shift logs, incident reports, and medication administration records (as needed) in compliance with agency standards.
- Community Access & Transportation: Provide safe transportation for individuals to medical appointments, community outings, and recreational activities using personal or agency vehicles.
- Household Support: Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and maintaining a clean, safe living environment.
- Hours may vary (days/evenings/weekends/awake overnights).

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates with post-secondary education in the area(s) of Social Work, Disability Services, or Early Childhood Education.
- Experience supporting children, youth, or adults with intellectual disabilities, mental health challenges, or complex needs. (Lived experience and volunteer work valued).
- Strong de-escalation, conflict-resolution and active-listening skills.
- A Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Access to a reliable vehicle is considered an asset (required for some service areas).




- Effective problem-solving ability & strong communication skills.
- The ability to work cohesively with others and be part of a team.
- First Aid/CPR and NVCI training will be provided as required.

The starting salary range for all casual employees is $17.3239 per hour.

The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record and Adult/Child Abuse Registry Checks; and must supply a satisfactory driver’s abstract.

Operating a vehicle is an essential duty of this role. Candidates must hold a valid, active driver's license in good standing to be eligible for hire. Providing a copy of your license and/or your license number at this stage is voluntary.
