The Consulting Data and AI Architect / Microsoft Fabric makes innovative contributions to new solution and product design, implementation, and client delivery based on a deep understanding of Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI, Power BI, Generative AI, and up-to-date enterprise data platforms. This role applies technology expertise to solution design, evaluates system-wide impact, and addresses business issues for clients by developing services offerings across multiple data, analytics, and AI solution areas that provide measurable value.
This role also leads practical delivery across:
· Microsoft Fabric architectures that incorporate OneLake, Power BI, data engineering, real-time analytics, Copilot experiences, Azure AI services, and Generative AI solution patterns.
· Solution design, prototyping, implementation readiness, governance, and client enablement for Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI, Power BI, and Generative AI engagements.
· Complex consulting engagements across multiple geographies, supporting client account teams with technical leadership, delivery oversight, proposal content, business cases, and customer-ready presentations.
About this role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Consulting Data and AI Architect / Microsoft Fabric to join the Professional Services Consulting Team. The role provides technical expertise in analyzing client requirements, shaping services offerings, and designing solutions across Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI, Power BI, and Generative AI. The architect will help clients move data and AI solutions from concept to production-ready outcomes through practical solution design, prototyping, implementation planning, governance alignment, and enablement.
Architecture
· Design and deliver Microsoft Fabric architectures that incorporate OneLake, Power BI, data engineering, real-time analytics, Copilot experiences, Azure AI services, and Generative AI solution patterns.
· Lead development of practical AI-enabled solution patterns, including retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, embedding pipelines, prompt orchestration, semantic search, and AI-enabled analytics workflows.
· Build and validate proofs of concept, prototypes, reusable accelerators, reference architectures,
and implementation templates that help move data and AI solutions from concept to production-ready outcomes.
· Lead project teams by directing coworker and client teams in solution design, development, implementation readiness, and client enablement activities.
· Provide technical leadership in creating business cases, financial justification, and solution benefit content for customer-ready deliverables, proposals, quotations, and presentations.
Delivery Oversight, Technical Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement
· Provide aggregate oversight of technical solutions across multiple projects to ensure consistency, synergy in approach, and broad visibility to the solutions delivery team.
· Maintain client relationships as a trusted Technical Advisor and serve as a focal point for communications between multiple departments, delivery teams, account teams, and clients when necessary.
· Recommend data, analytics, Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI, Power BI, and Generative AI solutions that support client account teams with the development of proposals, quotations, presentations, and service offerings.
· Perform quality assurance for SOW requests that meet triggers for size, cross-brand, or complexity, and peer review deliverables from other team members for technical accuracy, completeness, and client readiness.
· Proactively identify, address, or escalate project budget, delivery, technical, or scope issues during engagements, using experience and judgment to communicate effectively with all parties.
Governance, Implementation Readiness, Performance and Scalability
· Define and apply data governance, AI governance, security, and responsible AI controls, including RBAC, data classification, auditability, sensitivity labeling, prompt protection, content safety, and secure handling of sensitive data.
· Optimize Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure AI, and Generative AI solutions for performance, scalability, usability, operability, cost-efficiency, and production readiness.
· Research advanced and complex technology solutions, evaluate alternatives, apply lessons learned to unique problems, and present recommendations to clients in a manner that aligns technology decisions to business outcomes.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of IT Infrastructure experience, including 3 years of experience with large enterprise cross-brand projects, or 11+ years of IT Infrastructure experience,
including 3 years of experience with large enterprise cross-brand projects. Experience should include enterprise data platform implementation, analytics, AI-enabled solution delivery, or Microsoft Fabric-focused consulting delivery.
· Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, building, implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Microsoft Fabric solutions, including Data Engineering, Data Factory, OneLake, Direct Lake, semantic models, pipelines, notebooks, and Power BI.
· Practical experience with Generative AI capabilities such as Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Copilot, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, prompt engineering, grounding patterns, and AI service integration.
· Strong data engineering and implementation skills, including SQL, Python, Spark or PySpark, modern ELT patterns, CI/CD practices, and the ability to configure, test, and optimize solutions directly in the platform.
· Expected to maintain client relationships as a trusted Technical Advisor and serve as the focal point for communications between multiple departments and clients when necessary, including taking a lead technical role in reviewing and editing deliverables produced by Engineering and Consulting teams.
· Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective to internal and external clients.
· Proven ability to research advanced and complex technology solutions, evaluate alternatives, make recommendations, and present materials that meet client needs. Must be able to act calmly and productively when confronted with change, ambiguity, and risk, and deal constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions or outcomes.
Education
· Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
· Bachelor's in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Pay range: $120,000-$181,000
The pay range set out above reflects OnX's anticipated compensation for this position at the time of posting. The successful candidate's base pay will be determined within this range, taking into account factors such as primary work location, role scope and responsibilities, required qualifications, and the individual's experience, education, skills, and knowledge. OnX does not request or rely on a candidate's salary history in setting compensation for this role.
Certain positions may also be eligible for additional compensation, such as discretionary bonuses or sales-based variable pay, in accordance with the applicable plan terms.
