Contribute to community well-being as a Direct Support Worker with The Salvation Army. This part-time role focuses on assisting individuals facing homelessness in Saskatoon, offering practical and emotional support.
In this vital position, you will ensure a safe and supportive workplace at the Crossroads Residential Services – Warming Centre. The Direct Support Worker will monitor client activities, enforce program policies, and provide essential services while respecting the diverse needs of individuals in crisis. You'll collaborate closely with the team to maintain operational standards and promote client understanding of available resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide ongoing support and assistance to clients • Enforce program policies and regulations strictly • Conduct client admissions and evaluations for service understanding • Document issues and recommend actionable solutions • Assist with daily maintenance, meals, and emergency readiness
Requirements: • High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred • Minimum 10 months' experience with vulnerable populations • Skills in communication, confidentiality, and conflict resolution • Willingness to undergo training (e.g., First Aid, de-escalation) • Ability to work under stress with a compassionate approach
