DESIGN HOME GIFT & PAPER is a national sales agency operating in the wholesale gift & home category, selling products to retail stores, across Canada. We representing 30+ brands and 80,000 SKUs in all major gifts, lifestyle & accessories categories. Our industry-leading lines include: Creative Co-Op, Penguin Random House, Mud Pie, Thymes, Raz Imports, Corkcicle, etc.

We source brands from across North America and overseas, have the largest showroom of any agency/distributor in Canada at 18,000+ sq. ft. and participate twice annually in industry trade shows.

We are seeking a new Director of Sales (Candidate must have gift industry experience), who will be responsible for the following:

- Implementing sales programs to promote increased revenues and meet sales targets on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
- Regularly meet with sales team (in-territory, by phone and by Zoom) to discuss sales strategies & improvements, gaining greater real estate with existing customers and opening new doors
- Dealing with Special Customer Requirements to build sales, to include: rebate negotiations based on tiered annual volume, free freight, discounts, incentives, etc.
- Direct national/key accounts sales and in-support of sales representative who sell regional/key accounts
- Organize Bi-Annual National Sales Meetings/training; take lead in coordinating reps, vendors and staffing for the trade shows to achieve strong sales success.




- Collaborate with the Vice President of Marketing & Merchandising to align marketing campaigns to achieve sales goals
- Reports analysis (to determine territory productivity, etc.)
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, serving as a key point of contact
- Mentor, train and develop new sales reps by providing guidance, product knowledge and support needed to achieve success within a multi-line agency
- Participate in management team meetings to collaborate on business and sales strategies and identify growth opportunities

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria, and possess the below skills:

- Have solid technical/analytical skills including advanced Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinker with a strong vision on how to meet core objectives and drive agency growth
- Ability to motivate - a leader with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct in-territory travel with reps, and attend US and overseas trade shows
- Understanding of overall industry dynamics amongst key manufacturers, distributors, agencies and reps, within Canada and the US
- Have a network of reps (and other industry contacts) to help facilitate hiring of candidates, across Canada
- Ideally lives in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and has the ability to travel daily to Mississauga/GTA office, if required, or willing to relocate from other parts of Canada (but not required)
