GGC is actively recruiting for a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility Coordinator (Contract until August 2027)

About This Opportunity The Coordinator, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility supports the work of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility Team. They will support the team through leading administrative functions nationwide. They will regularly be in contact with external and internal stakeholders. Reporting to the Manager, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility, this role assists in maintaining inboxes, scheduling content updates for guidelines, coordinating internal initiatives and other administrative tasks as required. They will also work collaboratively with various teams to promote an equitable and inclusive culture aligned with the organization’s mission. In This Role You Will Position Specific
Administrative Coordination
- Maintains and coordinates team’s shared calendars, planners and project management tools.
- Proactively identifies and assigns escalations to appropriate individuals in DEIA nationwide inbox.
- Supports the coordination and tracking of team meetings and working groups This will include facilitating meetings, recording, distributing and archiving minutes.
- Ensures revision schedule for updates to guidelines and DEIA nationwide documents is followed
- In Collaboration with DEIA Manager, assists in drafting team presentations, and organizational reports, such as the Annual Report, as applicable.
Training and Capacity Building Support
- In consultation with the DEIA team, create, monitor and update team workback plans and timelines for projects
- Initiates planning for organizational commemorative dates as well as collecting feedback in a timely manner after DEIA events (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Pride Month, Black History Month and Indigenous History Month).
- Supports DEIA team with building out GGC’s DEIA training framework, including maintaining feedback data.
- Collaborates with the DEIA team to coordinate scheduling, materials and logistics for pilot, specialized and Indigenous led units.
- Assists in preparing content for the Annual Report, and other organizational reports as needed.
- Liaises with other departmental coordinators to ensure DEIA work alignment.
Communities of Practice and Internal Collaboration
- Under DEIA team’s supervision, maintains working relationships with stakeholders across Canada to ensure ongoing collaboration.
- Tracks progress on cross team DEIA initiatives and flag gaps.
- Following the lead of the DEIA Specialist, provides administrative support for onboarding DEIA facilitators, as required.
- Assists in maintaining relationships with GGC councils at an operational level (scheduling follow ups for meetings and resource delivery), while Specialist leads relationship strategy and higher-level engagement.
- Provides administrative support for specified meetings with organizational teams and provincial councils, as needed.
- Monitors and organizes data and metrics as received by the DEIA team related to organizational barriers to inclusion.
General
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
- Liaise with other departments as required.
- Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.
- Other duties as assigned.
You Should Apply If You Have The Following Education, Designations and Certifications
- Post Secondary education and/or similar work experience.
Prior Work Experience
- 1+ years of experience in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion or a related field, preferably within a charitable/not-for-profit organization.
- 3+ years of administrative experience in a not-for-profit or similar work workplace.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Strong relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with external and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated administrative success with previous roles.
- Proficiency in presentation creation and spreadsheet management and analysis.
- Willingness to learn how to use project management tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite or similar application management systems is an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and with volunteers.
